Privacy Policy

Who we are

LAKOU is a Haitian cultural and musical event production brand ('LAKOU', 'we', 'us'). This policy explains what information we collect when you use lakou's website, buy tickets, vote for a city, or contact us — and how we use it.

What we collect

When you buy a ticket: your name, email address, and optionally your phone number. When you pay by mobile money (MonCash/NatCash): the phone number you paid from and, if you provide it, your transaction reference and a screenshot of your transfer. When you vote for a city or subscribe to the newsletter: your email address and a device identifier used to prevent duplicate votes. When you sign in with Google: your name, email and profile picture from your Google account.

How we use it

We use your information to: deliver your QR tickets by email and verify them at the entrance; confirm mobile-money payments; announce events, new cities and ticket drops (only if you subscribe); respond to your messages; and keep the platform secure. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with advertisers.

Payments

Card payments are processed securely by Stripe — LAKOU never sees or stores your card number. MonCash and NatCash transfers happen inside your own wallet app; we only record the confirmation details you share with us.

Cookies & local storage

We store your language preference and voting status in your browser's local storage. No advertising trackers are used.

Your rights

You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us through the Contact page. We respond within 7 days.

Data security & retention

Ticket and order records are kept for event operations and accounting. Email addresses stay on our list until you unsubscribe. We apply industry-standard safeguards, and access to order data is restricted to authorized LAKOU team members.
